MISSION MATTERS BMS WORLD MISSION Indonesia and Sri Lanka The populations of both Indonesia and Sri Lanka include diverse people groups and while the majority live peaceably together, ethnic tension has regularly spilled over into bitter conflict. In both countries, BMS partners often put themselves into tense or demanding situations as they aim to share God’s peace and love. Ecuador There are many opportunities for our British Baptist churches to support the growing BMS mission work in Ecuador. Church planting amongst the poor African-origin population of the Esmeraldas region, early years educational work in the more than 25 PEPE mission pre-schools and support for the National Month of Prayer this month are all special needs presented to us for partnership by the Ecuadorean leadership. Nepal BMS partner the International Nepal Fellowship (INF) is striving to respond to God’s leading through the changes the country and the people are facing these days. Home offices around the world have increased their activities and increasingly begun to work in the worldwide Nepali Diaspora. In Nepal, INF Worldwide and INF Nepal continue to establish their identities. Uganda The Baptist Union of Uganda (BUU) under the leadership of Alex Wanyama continues to grow as new churches are being established, with many in remote areas of the country. One important factor for this growth is the number of Baptist schools receiving help form the BUU, especially in the area of professional training for teachers and an updating in the curriculum being taught.
